Waldo Library’s First Floor Closed

Summer construction on Waldo Library’s first floor will begin April 29 and continue through August 27. Waldo Library will remain open during construction, but the first floor will be closed.

The refreshed space will feature energy-efficient lighting, new ceiling tiles, and contemporary carpeting. Reconfigured shelving will improve accessibility to the collection on the first floor.

The main entrance to Waldo Library and the service desk on the first floor will remain open during construction. Collaborative and quiet study spaces, computer stations, and the majority of the print collection will continue to be available on the lower level, second and third floors.

Sections of Waldo Library’s print collection (call numbers N and P) will be unavailable during the project. Library users are encouraged to use interlibrary loan services to borrow items that are unavailable due to construction.

Forty-four computer stations will be available on the lower level, second, and third floors. An additional 59 computer stations are available in the University Computing Center Lab, which is adjacent to Waldo Library.

Please contact the University Libraries’ Office of the Dean, (269) 387-5201, with questions about the project.
