Surrealism Exhibit

" A Glimpse into Surrealism" From the Rare Book Room. A second floor, rotunda, case exhibit of some amazing books on art.

'Surreality' is a modern take on Surrealism through photography.
Surrealism arose in France during the early 1920’s as a cultural movement and the style is characterized by dream-like and irrational images from the subconscious.

The art style was pioneered by Andre Brenton and modeled after his Surrealist Manifesto and Freudian theory. Here is a glimpse of the exhibit.

'POSE' is a modern day artist who uses an array of colors
and layered applications to portray simple human emotions
such as love, loss, and triumph.
